Hector Argueta, better known as Chef Hector, started his career in the hospitality industry in 2004 working as a busser at our flagship Kanki Crabtree Valley Mall location. It was there bussing tables where he discovered his interest in teppanyaki cooking by watching the chefs cook and entertain customers. A year later, Hector got the opportunity to work in the kitchen making appetizers and cooking hibachi to-go orders. Throughout the years, Hector gained all the knowledge he could and officially became a teppanyaki chef in 2009. Chef Hector's determination and passion for the art of teppanyaki cooking led him to becoming the Chief Chef at our Durham/Chapel Hill location.
When Chef Hector isn't cooking, he enjoys playing soccer.
