CHIEF CHEF - KANKI DURHAM

 

Doan, better known as Chef Cuong, has been with Kanki for more than 20 years, starting as a cook in 1990 at the Crabtree Valley Mall location. In 1991, Chef Cuong started Teppanyaki training with Chef Hiro Tanaka.

Chef Cuong was promoted to Chief Chef at Kanki’s Durham location in 2006.

Cuong moved to the United States from his native Saigon, Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He loves seeing customers have fun and enjoying the food that he cooks. Cuong’s favorite cooking tip? If you drop your knife, do not try to catch it!
